Sweet Potato Fries

"uuuuuh yeaaaaaaaaa, im gonna need for you to come in tomorrow, uuuuh yeaaaaaaaa" if you ever watch office space, you know what im talking about. I Went to the troubadoure on sunday night to check out a couple of bands with tristenjoydivision. The show was definetly worth 10 dollars. unfortunatly TG had to pay 20 bucks through ticketmaster, but its all good cause at the end of the night we were prized with sweetpotatoe fries from Cafe 101 in hollywood!

Review by Giant Robot-
Onstage, Monsters Are Waiting ooze tension and star power with the dueling elements of its bass-driven grooves and Annalee Fery's playful vocals and demeanor. On this self-released debut, the L.A. band does not disappoint in its delivery of dark-but-sweet melodies with '80s undertones. But don't expect gimmicky keyboard flashes or goth theatrics. On song like the sinewy "Ha Ha" or sassy "Don't Go," the tone is pure class, kind of like a more subdued Altered Images. And when fery sings "wake me, take me" on "christine," it's not needy, but bold. Monsters Are Waiting is destined to make the jump front the knee-high stages of neighborhood bars to opening for big-headed headliners from Europe, and hopefully. they'll completely
bypass pay-to-play hell.

Dirty Little Secret

“Dirty Little Secret has been described as mixing artsy attitude and pop sensibility to form a musical melting pot that references rock classics such as The Pixies, Kraftwerk, Laurie Anderson, and The Clash. Louis (singer/guitarist) and James (bassist) formed Dirty Little Secret in the summer of 2002. Their history stretches back to high school when they became best friends, doing everything together from ditching school to skateboarding to song writing.

well i guess thats it for now. More show's coming up in the future. check out -monsters are waiting- for sure! they put on a really good show and their sounds are deliciously snackable. Giant Drag displays a great performance with funny skits in between songs. Their songs is like eating pazookies after sex, its just that good!, and if you've never had a pazookie, you need to crawl out from under that rock and get your ass to bj's brewery and get up on that!
